The Department for Education's feasibility study identified building a new school as the preferred solution, recognizing the strategic importance of this project. The proposed development includes 140 parking spaces, 17 of which are accessible, 40 cycle spaces, a SEN garden, and habitat planting, along with three main playground areas. The construction is estimated to take 40 weeks, with a lifespan of 40 years, after which the site will be returned to its original state.
However, the project is not without its challenges. During the consultation period, concerns were raised about potential flooding issues due to surface water run-off, highways problems, and the need to limit parking on surrounding streets to residents only. Some residents praised the proposal, highlighting the poor architectural style of the current buildings and the school's desperate need for an upgrade.
